I'm trying to mount an NFS volume on ESXI 6, but keep running into this error. Googling about hasn't helped, so here I am. Error:
Call "HostDatastoreSystem.CreateNasDatastore" for object "ha-datastoresystem" on ESXi "192.168.xx.xx" failed.
Operation failed, diagnostics report: Unable to get console path for volume, sample name.
The NFS share is located on a synology nas. I've checked permissions and configuration. Everything looks correct based on the various tips and KB articles.
Ideas?
Thanks.
does get-vdswitch exist in PowerCLI 5.5?
I get this error:
Get-VDSwitch : The term 'Get-VDSwitch' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the
spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

We have a network with about 25 PCOIP devices, these are a mix of Samsung NC240's and eVGA PD06.
Randomly, about twice a week all logged in VM's disconnect without warning and won't reconnect for about 20 mins on the Teradici devices. BUT, the VM's are still live and in session if I use a Horizon View client from a windows desktop, I can connect to any of the dropped connections and the session is still in progress, ie. I pickup where the user was dropped.
The View Administrator setting for Forcibly Disconnect is set to Never.
I initially suspected bad network switches (since the sessions were live but the desktop hardware had disconnected) but I have eliminated that as a possibility since I can still ping printers but not any of the PCOIP desktops.
Had anyone experienced anything similar? Or have any idea on trouble shooting and/or resolution would be appreciated.

Good day everyone,
I would like to know if it is possible to register as partner but I have not any company, is there a way to get the partner status as individual?
I found this thread Re: Partner Course and tried to do it the same way but on registering the email address I got an error that says I must use a valid company email address.
Thanks in advance.
When i try to add 2nd Uplink into the vDS i lost connection from my all hosts.
Using Cisco UCS Uplinks (FI-A vmnic0 & FI-B vmnic1). i down the vmnic1 from the console then hosts come back.
From vDS i am using both uplink active/active
Any body got this type of problem and how to solve this issue?
I have a HP server with 2 vms running ESXi.
The power went out and although the server has a battery backup the server was manually powered off. 1 VM came back up but the other says Unknown (inaccessible).
When I went into the datastore I see the 2 vmdk files (C.vmdk & E.vmdk).
I have a good backup back is there a way I can get this back up and running without restoring from the backup?
It looks like some files are missing but I'm not sure what it's suppose to look like.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!
Gabe
Hello,
since a few weeks i have the problem that my ESXi host freezes sometimes when powering on a Windows 10 VM with a NVidia Quadro 2200 in PCI passthrough and today i got a PSOD.
I think it happens first after installing the patch released at 02/23/2016.
Is it possible that a update is responsible for my problem? I'm thinking about a new clean install with 6.0U1b to test if a update is causing my problem.
In the vmkernel.log this line must be the next line when the VM is starting:
PCI: 717: Device 0000:84:00.0: restoring TV/VC Map (0x1) to offset 114
The line before this line is the last line in the vmkernel.log:
Net: 2441: connected wks10 eth0 to VM Network, portID 0x200000b
When the VM is running i have no problems...
Kind regards
Stefan

Hi
I have a vSphere 6.0 U1 Jan 2016 HP Custom Image running on an DL310 Gen8 v2 with 2x1TB SATA Drives in a RAID 0 on a SmartArray B120i.
Because of performance issues, i installed the scsi-hpvsa-5.5.0-88OEM.550.0.0.1331820.x86_64.vib driver like it has been mentioned in this thread: Very slow acces to datastores on HP MIcroserver Gen8. Can't edit System Resource Reservation with vSphere client.
Now, the read Performance is OK, but if i try to copy data from a physical machine into my Server 2012 R2 VM, i have fluctuating transmission rates from 100 MB/s down to 0 kb/s...
Every 10 seconds, i have a break in- you can see that also in the task manager log but there is no analogy to the vmware performance log:
The weird thing is, that on the same host exists a second Server 2012 R2- if i try to copy the same data, there is no problem like that.
Both machines are equipped with an vmxnet3 network adapter and vmdk's stored on the same local disk.
Any ideas?
Thanks and Regards
George
EDIT:
I've forgotten to mention, that i enabled the read cache in the Smart Array Controller and set it to 128MB.
It would be also possible, that my problem results from the reading performance, because in that moment, when the transfer rate goes to 0kb/sec, i can't open files from that Disk (a few seconds delay).
Hi Guys Please let me know if you guys can help me to configure my data base and my Event data base for both servers
I will provide a donation for this help thanks.
Hi ,
I have gone through the SDK\tutorials document.i Have built the package as specified in in the document.
The next step is i need to register this package .I have few questions regarding the package registration.Iam using the Sample java program in the vsphere_plugin_4_1_technote as specified in the SDK\tutorial document .
I have seen the java program and have questions in it .
1)We need to create two java objects ExtensionServerInfo and ExtensionClientInfo .they both need the package Url (.zip file location ).But in our case we dont have any webserver that is hosting this .zip file ,that means i have this pckage created and saved in my local c:\\myPackage.zip.What should i do in this case .(Do i need to Winscp to the vcsa and manually copy the files as specified in documentation)?
2)what would be my Service URL in this line of code -
_service = _serviceLocator.getVimPort(new URL (url ));
_sic = _service.retrieveServcieContent(_svcRef);
I am giving my url as ........
https://dnsNameofvcsa/sdk and https://hostname+sdk/vim. ( Is this the correct url ?if not how do i get correct url for vcsa server.)
both gives me error "Permission to perform this operation was denied."
Thanks,

Hi,
I am running a test network with plenty of virtual networks. To route between these, I am using the freesco (www.freesco.org) floppy-based linux system because of it's low resource requirements. This works fine on VMware Server 1.Having upgraded to Server 2, Freesco no longer works.
I get results as described in http://www.freesco.org/support-forum/index.php?showtopic=16700
I have tried fresh copies of Freesco 0.3.8 and 0.4.0 to no avail.
I have read somewhere that playing with the hardware virtualisation assistance settings can help fix this but my current hardware does not provide these features.
Can anyone help?
TIA
I'm having trouble setting up a Linux router using the Freesco software on a floppy image. When I boot up Freesco after configuring it, it does not detect any network cards. In the VM's BIOS I see that there are two AMD am79C970A cards and I've tried including the lance drivers provided in the floppy image and still not luck. Any one have any idea why I cant get it to detect the NIC's? I'm not familiar with Linux.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
