Hi,

I am new to this so asking. Might be you all knowing about this. please help

I have captured one application and If I look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.txt file there is one registry entry like.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\CLSID\{0E3DF841-C6D4-468C-AF16-DB62D646E791}\LocalServer32

  Value=

  REG_SZ~%ProgramFilesDir~0016\EnCorr\BIN\encorr.exe#2300

in REG_SZ it's %ProgramFilesDir~0016 but it should be %ProgramFilesDir%.

May I please know that ~0016 represents to % sign or it's having difference significance.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Rushikesh

Hi,

I am sequencing Encorr for windows and Business intelligence client both applications.

After testing I found that both shortcuts is having an issues:

1) Encorr for windows:

Launched-> half launched and message displays initializing.

2) Business intelligence client:

Launched -> The executable comes and goes of looked at task manager and nothing launched.

The applications are developed in Visual basic 6.

To solve it,

- I have tried applying compatibility mode

- Changed isolation modes.

- With the help of procmon, I have even included, registered DLL's which might be required to be present in ThinApp bubble.

May I know what might be the issue.

any suggestions please welcome.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Rhushikesh

Upgrade required - "Unsupported hardware family: VMX09"

Hey guys,

Whilst recently trying to deploy from an OVF template I received the following error...

"This OVF package uses features that are not supported.

The OVF package requires unsupported hardware.

Details: Line 20L Unsupported hardware family 'VMX-09'.

We are currently running ESXi host version 5.0.0 2000308 upon our hosts and VMware VCenter Server version 5.0.0 build 913577.

I understand that the Virtual Hardware Version of the OVF is version 9 ( ESXi 5.1). Because we are running hardware version 8 (ESXi 5) the OVF isn't supported. I believe this to be the issue...

My question is, in order for this OVF to be supported do I need to update the ESXi hosts or the Vcenter version or both to 5.1?

Regards.

Hiding Cost to Date Column in vRA

Hello folks and thanks in advance!

I'm trying to hide the cost field from the end users. I've already "adjusted" the UI on the blueprint request form, but I'm trying to get at the Items and Request screen to simply hide these columns from view.

Problem is, Im not sure where these views are generated from and how I can possible end them from appearing.

Has anyone done this or know possibly where these files are located?

Hello everyone,

I have an Dell server running ESXI 6.0 latest version on standalone mode. Not connected to any vCenters.

The problem i have is every couple of days I get the message :

Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password

Even my credentials are correct.( username root ) My esxi has static public address and everything else is working fine.

After a couple of tries, still same error, wait a couple of hours and then login again as normal.

What can be the issue?

Is doing this every one day or two.

Thank you in advance.

Can't login to vshpere client after upgrade from 5.5 to 6.0

We have a single ESXi host that was upgraded today from 5.5 to 6.0.  After the upgrade I can't login using the VSphere client, connecting directly to the IP of the host.  The message is "Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password."  I also tried SSH with putty and can't login.  I AM able to login to the DCUI using the root account without any problems.  I have updated the root password to something more complex and that didn't help.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Authentication provider configuration error

I've been trying for the life of me to get a new vro appliance to register with my vcenter/sso domain. I have an external PSC and am trying to do vSphere mode. I've tried both pointing it at my psc which i believe is the correct option and vcenter itself. When i click connect, I immediately get a error returned of HTTP Status 400. You can see the full error in the attached screen shot. Anyone have any thoughts?

SdkTunnel:8089 is not available

A day after I set up and replicated some VMs, the replication at the target site stopped for some reason. I get the error:

Server https://sdkTunnel:8089 is not available.

Cause: Server https://sdkTunnel:8089 is not available.

I can't find a KB on it at all. What i have found (2063955) is that it seems to be a certificate issue? It's a self-signed cert. but shutting it down and starting it back up didn't resolve the issue.

The replication service is running.

ESXi really slow - dmesg: Transient storage condition, suggest retry / state in doubt

Hey guys,

do you know if the hard disk is defekt?
Or maybe something else?

I wanted to create a new VM. Then I saw that I can't connect via the vSphere Client.

After checking via SSH I restarted the server.

Then I can connect to the machine, but after few machines started its really slow.

So I going to debug it.

Then I got virtual heart attack and thinking "O.m.g., this seems dangerous".

But ok. In the rescue mode I can mount it and copy it to another place if it's broken. And I have backups for the case of cases.

After searching how to fix ESXi problems I found this community. There is a tool called "voma" but I can't fix something with this - so that I not used this now.

Here is the hard disk list.

Do you know if the hard disk is defect?
And maybe how I can fix this problem?

Or is something else broken on the hardware?

A really big thank you in Advance!

Restart vRA 7 deployment wizard

Hello,

I am going through the installation wizard on vRA 7 but for some reason I had to change the Windows account that runs the DEM agents and the SQL DB connection, when I get to the Validation section of the wizard the connection to the DB fails, in the logs I can see it is still trying to use the old account I ran it the first time it failed.

I have gone back to the first section and entered the values again, logged out and restart the appliance, but every time the Wizard uses the wrong account.  Is there any way to force a restart of the deployment without redeploying the appliance?

There was a KB at some point but it was removed:

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Unable to uninstall VMware Bridge Protocol

I'm trying to remove VMware Bridge Protocol after an uninstall of VMware player 12.0.1-3160714 on Windows 10 Pro. Apparently the VMware uninstaller did not do a clean uninstall. Attempt to delete it causes this error as shown in screenshot.

I've also tried to remove the protocol via regedit at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Network, and upon reboot the protocol still remains.

This is a problem because it is preventing me from applying IPV4 settings, giving me the "An unexpected condition occured" when I try to apply DNS settings.

Can anyone tell me how to remove that damn protocol apart from reinstalling Windows 10?

NSX-V 6.2 with Palo Alto for NSX for multi-VC environments

Hi forum,

I have a customer already running NSX on multi-VC across two DC's today. Their ask is to implement PAN for NSX for both locations. I have implemented this for single VC environments and seem to recall there's a one to one relationship between NSX manager and Panorama. Can I assume I can register Panorama with multiple NSX managers (primary and secondaries) ? Is this documented somewhere ?

Many thanks in advance -

Issues booting a CentOS Linux VM after conversion into VMware

Hello!

I have numerous CentOS 6.5 servers I'm trying to convert into ESX from Xen.  The conversions complete fine, and the VM's boot to the grub loader, but then just a white line non-flashing cursor on a black screen.

I've booted to system recovery disks and all the fstab entries align correctly with the new device partitions, and GRUB reflects this.  Lost as to what the issue may be...

Anyone else experience this?

I update Update Manager to last version and fails again.

Any tips? Help? Wishes?

I just open a SR with Vmware, but i still don't have a solution or something. I want wait for a solution before rollback, but i can't live without Site Recovery Manager feature.

NSX Locale-ID

While multi-site with Locale-Id is a great feature - as it avoids all kind of tricks with route-metrics or Admin Distances to create the concept of a primary- and secondary DC location per IP prefix(es)

However, is there a way to make it conditional by means of say IPSLA - tracking the availability of an upstream critical IP address, say the loop-back address of a WAN Edge router or Internet Access GW.

Likewise we could avoid black-holing; assuming the NSX controller would *not* necessarily understand Northbound implications of routing issues or isolation at that level. Say we could then relinquish routes and signal the peer ESG so it could start to advertise the otherwise isolated prefixes in DC-A (provided that the calamity at hand would not be at the NSX/vSphere level but upstream).

In the olden days something we used to do with iBGP trickery and conditional forwarding.

Any thoughts ?

Hi All,

Need your help on issue: I have converted a Windows 2K12 R2 template to VM and then exported template to OVF. Copied the OVF to another non-vc site and deployed the OVF as VM to ESXi and when powered on it says "OS not found" ..

Source: VMware vSphere vCenter 5.0 (ESXi 5.0)

Destination: VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5

Let me know if any one need more details.

Monitoring the EPOP agent load balanced nodes

Hey community.

VROPS - 6.1

I've just configured my epop agents in non-firewalled zones to communicate with a load balanced (LB) setup with 5 remote collectors (RC).  The short name we're using for the agents is vmwrc.  It has the load balancer configured to least connections and uses port 443.

So, now I'd like to be able to quickly see, in a dashboard I guess, how many nodes each RC in the LB is dealing with.  I'm wanting to do this to ensure that the LB config is working as expected.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
