"bridge" failed to capture packets that being routing from/to "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter"
host: Windows 7 64
guest: gentoo 64bit
vmware 9.0.2
*settings*
i have working wifi adapter and set it to hostednetwork
netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid=test key=test mode=allow
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
a new adapter "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" appears and it works fine for wifi client to connect/auth/ping the host
i set this adapter to 192.168.8.3/24, gateway 192.168.8.1
created a vmware linux, bridge on the virtual wifi adapter, with ip 192.168.8.1/24
192.168.8.1 and 192.168.8.3 can ping each other, tcpdump also hows the icmp

however when i ping any other ip not in this subnet, i cannot capture it from the guest side
it's strange that, i can sniff icmp echo request but no reply using windump on virtual wifi adapter, but i no packet is sniffed on the guest side in this case (looked good when 192.168.8.1 and 192.168.8.3 ping each other)
firewall is turned off on both host and guest os
with exactly same config but use a real or vm adapter or even real wifi adapter instead of the virtual wifi one, the routed packets go into guest side

vmware bridge failed to capture any packet that is going to the gateway (while windump can)

Build Appstack for SQL Management STudio

i try to build an appstack for sql management studio. I installation i can start the App without problem. Then i finnish the capture process. After assign the builded appstack to a desktop and start the application sql managament studio i get an error :
Did anyone already had run sql management studio as appstack ? or does anyone know the problem and how to fix it?

Normally I can access them through vsphere console but is there any other way to access the VM's?

Error input file does not exists
Hi community,
this is my first thread so please excuse me for beginners mistakes.
I read through the ghettoVCB.sh guide regarding how to configure the .sh file to backup the running VMs, then as according to the guide i set up the Vmbackup script and ran a test which was successful. A running VM was backed up and the .vmdk clone was placed in the NFS-share which was manually connected to the ESXI server. So now i face a problem with restoring the backed-up VM, when running the following command "./ghettoVCB-restore.sh -c /vmfs/volumes/BACKUP/test/test-2016-02-02_12-17-50" ; this results in the following two errors which i am not familiar with:
ERROR: "/vmfs/volumes/BACKUP/test/test-2016-02-02_12-17-50/" input file does not exists
ERROR: "/vmfs/volumes/BACKUP/test/test-2016-02-02_12-17-50/" input file does not exists
I am a beginner Sys-admin (like a hatching) therefore i would appreciate if you would consider that when responding.

branch reflector and connection?
Hello,
We will deploy Mirage server at our HQ for HQ users and reflector on all branches,
What about if we have very low network connection between HQ and branches?
Is the branch reflector isolated when the line is down between HQ and branches and all users become down or what ?
And what is the best solution ?

vCenter, ESXI and View can't live apart?
I'm test driving vCenter and loving it so far!
I have a problem with configuring View to work across the WAN. Maybe someone can help?
I have vCenter located in the Datacenter and an ESXi host sits at the remote office. The ESXi host is running Horizon View with a couple of Windows Desktop VMs. For a VM user to connect to View Connection Server it requires port 443. Internally this works great but when accessing View using the View Client software remotely (say from the coffee shop down the street) they can't connect because port 443 is in use by vCenter to communicate with the ESXi host over the WAN.
So the dilemma is we can't access View outside the LAN of the remote office. Which kind of sucks. Because vCenter is busy with that port 443.
So to work around this, I created a VPN tunnel between the Datacenter and the remote office and I sent all vCenter traffic down through the VPN tunnel (including that port 443 of course). This way I can port forward the 443 of the WAN to the View Connection Server so that we can run Windows in a View connection while having coffee at that bad coffee place down the street.
VPN is finicky. It drops sometimes. So I find myself with a habit of checking to make sure if the connection to the host is not in a 'not responding' state. Then I have to bring up the tunnel again and connect the host again and man it's a pain.
Ideally, vCenter would talk to the ESXi host on a port of my choosing so I tried removing and adding the host using a port with the format -> [hostname]:[port]. I made sure to forward that port to the ESXi host which makes it go from 7443 to 443. ESXi should be happy now. The connection starts up and it finds the VMs and it lets me finish the wizard, but while adding the host it gives me the error: Unable to push CA certificates and CRLs to host. So I forward port 80 also (just in case). Same results.
I went through the network port pdf for vSphere 6.x and made sure each required port is available to ESXi.
Nothing useful shows up on Google. I know. Weird.
It seems I can almost add the ESXi host from the vCenter if only I was able to tell vCenter to always talk on that particular port. I have vCenter installed using the VCSA appliance. Should I SSH into it and modify anything in there?
Is my only other option to install the Security Server thingy? That would mean yet another microsoft license no? Is there a Security server Linux appliance? I haven't even checked that yet to be honest.

vRA 6.2 - error while loading a ASD workflow user presentation
Hi,
I have a vRO workflow which I have integrated in vRA as a ASD workflow. The workflow stops at an user interaction. Some of the values in the presentation field are predefined values, that are generated after the workflow starts and loadedi nto the presentation.
When I try to answer the user interaction, the vRA GUI starts to load the fields, but shortly after starting I get the error:
The vRO workflow validation shows no errors, I can run it just fine with the vRO client. When I completely remove the predefined values, the presentation GUI loads the Summary and description fields of the Manual User Interaction, however this end with an error as well after a short time.

ESXi 6 install on HP BL460c Gen 9 - local storage not found
Hi
I've just deployed a new blade enclosure containing a number of BL460c Gen9 blades. Each of these blades have 2 x local HDDs which have been configured as a RAID-1 set.
When I run through the ESXi installation, following accepting the license agreement it searches for devices, but under "Local" where I would expect to see my RAID1 drive/volume, it simply says "None".
These are new servers, and on the compatibility list. Why is the local storage not found?

Vmware workstation 11 virtual machines losts the internet connection while host system( window7) connected with the VPN Network
- While host (window) machine connects to the VPN, VM Workstation 11-virtual machine(Linux OS) lost their internet connection. I have tried different networking setup configuration but either connect to VPN or internet not luck with both.The host machine connect with the vpn using Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client V 3.1069.

SRM 6.1 Unable to pair 2nd SRM site, odd error.
On a new installation of vCenter 6u1b and SRM, I'm unable to pair to the second site. I can add the PSC address (with default port 443), 'see' the site with matching SRM extension, connect with an admin acct, exchange certs, but then i get an odd error:
"SRM Server Cannot complete a pair Operation. The reason is: fault.lookup.fault.EntryNotFoundFault.summary.lookup.fault.EntryNotFoundFault.summary."
I've not been able to find anything on this specific error. Has anyone seen this before?

SAP Business One
Curious to know if anyone has sucessfully gotten SAP B1 working with addons running. I've tried every variation on the install and am having troubles. B1 itself runs smoothly, but any addons increase the time to perform operations between 70%-130%.
Any thoughts would be welcome.

windows10 32bit システム修復ディスク、回復ドライブの作成

ゲストOS：windows10 32ビット
において、
（１）システム修復ディスク
（２）回復ドライブ
の作成が出来ません。
ディスク、またはUSBメモリに書き込む際に、エラーとなります。
システム修復ディスクは、途中までDVDに書き込まれているようですが、最後にエラーとなります。
回復ドライブは、書き込みエラー発生後、USBメモリが認識できなくなっていて、
ファイルシステムが壊れているようです。
単純に考えると、ドライバの問題のように感じてしまいます。
そもそも、vmwareのゲストOS自体が丸ごとコピーできてしまうので、
それで、バックアップは、事足りるかもしれませんンが、
この現象が何が原因なのか知りたくて登録させて頂きました。

最後に補足ですが、ゲストOS上で
USBメモリのドライブ文字を変更した後位から
再起動後に、ゲストOSでUSB関連全般（HDD、USBメモリ）がマウントできなくなりました。
デバイスマネージャからUSBデバイスを一旦削除して、
再起動しましたが、現象は、修復できません。
何かシステム資源が競合を起こしているのか、ちょっと詳しくないのでわかりません。
クリーンインストールしかないのかなぁと感じています。
