In Fusion 8.1, after upgrade from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7, the Network adapter cannot connect to the net.

Been looking for the right place to post, so if my post does not belong here please let me know where.

The problem:

Upgraded to Fusion 8.1 from Fusion 7 where I had a Windows XP Pro. After the Fusion upgrade I upgraded to Windows 7 and followed the steps in the video by Stephen Gardner based on “Upgrading a VMware Fusion virtual machine from Windows XP to Windows 7 (1015396)”

After removing and reinstalling the network adapter I no longer have network connection.

I have tried to disable Windows Firewall on the virtual machine and I have given the Fusion App and Startup App permission to run in the Norton Firewall on the Mac.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled VMware tools and tried various settings for the Network adapter, but nothing had given me connection to the Network

Anyone else have this issue, or can tell me how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance.
