I am currently migrating a current Exchange 2007 SCC Cluster running on 2003 over to vmware running windows 2008. It is also a SCC Cluster. I have followed all the vmware and MS best practices, but the one thing im not sure of is the memory page/swap file size and also cpu allocation. I have 5 Esxi hosts and each is running just one Exchange 2007 guest as per vmware and MS recommendations when using SCC Clustering.
Each host has 2 Cpus with 6 cores per cpu and 48gb Ram and as each host will only have one guest, would like to allocate everything to the guest. I have read somewhere that it is recommended that exchange 2007 page file should be memory size +10mb. Do I really need to make the page file that size? 250gb of disk space is quite a lot for paging files! Im also unsure what to set the cpu allocation too. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.
Thanks
Dave
