My company keeps a separate database of avaible IP's from which VMs are to utilize. The problem is that there is a delay between what subnets are contained in the database and what has been actually configured in VSphere. I essentially want to write a script (which I will post) that requests an IP address and mask, verifies that it is an acceptable input, and determines if the subnet exists within the switches configured. What cmdlet will allow me to get the list of actual subnets? I have looked into get-virtualswitch but it does not seem to yield the info I am looking for.
