Hi All,
We are configuring SRM using EMC 5300 & Recover point replication. To make it simple at Production site we have presented 1 TB x 2 LUN's to ESXi host and same 2 LUN's are replicated to DR storage. These LUN's also contains 2 T&D VMs which we dont require at DR while during fail-over.
For the fail over we have created 1 protection group using three datastores and it shows status of protection group as "Good" but as soon as we remove the protection of 2 T&D VM's the status of Protection group changes to Not protected(attached are the screenshot). With this alert message we tried to do a test fail over but it gave some snapshot error.
My colleague is saying you need move these two VM's in some other datastore which is not replicated. Can you please guide what if we want to keep these two VM's in replicated datastore but dont want to protect them. Therefore what is the purpose of remove protection option in SRM protection Group?
